@$$hole!: Ren Faire 2011 (part 8)

Truth be told, none of us have ever taking fencing lessons. However, most of us have seen swashbuckling movies (or the original Conan: The Barbarian). However, trying to say that another person should be afraid of someone’s skills because they’ve watched a movie seemed rather silly to me. And in that is the humor of the piece.

Having friends to do this with at Ren Faire is the greatest treat in the world. Playing with swords – it’s like being 12 years old again and playing pretend in the back yard. The only difference is that we’re playing with real swords. And we’re in a battle ring. With balloons on our heads. But that’s besides the point.

What I guess I’m trying to get at is this: The battle that follows is real. We didn’t choreograph any of this. Someone took pictures while we battled it out in the ring. Of course, the downfall to this is a lack of “directing” as it were, however I feel there’s enough action and interesting shots in here to keep the fight entertaining.

And have I mentioned it was fun to do? Because it was.
