Con Report: ACEN 2012 (part 1)

Anime Central (ACEN) is my favorite show of the year. They treat their guests extremely well, and through the years I’ve made friends with many of the guests and people on staff. It’s an incredibly fun time, and I’m always honored to be invited back as a guest of honor each year.

That said, let’s hop into the con report for one of the most fun weekends of the year!

THURSDAY:
After work, I took the train out to Rosemont, Il where I was met by my good friend Alan Evans (Rival Angels), who helped me carry my gear to the hotel. We checked into the hotel with guest relations, got my badge and guest kit from the show, and dropped off my stuff in the room. After, we met up with fellow guest and good friend Russell Lissau (The Batman Strikes, Strawberry Shortcake) and we headed up to the Green Room for an industry party with the voice actors and other guests.

After a while, fellow comic guests John Bivens (Comic Book Tattoo), his fiance Mallory, and Steve Horton (Amala’s Blade) showed up. After a few drinks we decided to call it a night, knowing what kind of weekend we had ahead of us.
